Enjoy the No. 1 attraction by private charter! A handmade tractor-drawn carriage with a dedicated guide will take you on a guided tour of Koiwai Farm’s 100-year-old forest and forestry production sites. 22-person maximum capacity makes this program suitable for small groups. Families with children and those who have difficulty walking will also appreciate this program.
Enter the Makiba Garden and meet at the start point of the Farm Tractor Ride. A farm guide will meet you and confirm the tour route.
The departing tractor proceeds through Makiba Park to an undisclosed area.
The tractor rattles along at a leisurely pace. On the way, the guide explains the history of Koiwai Farm and the forest. Many of our customers have said, “Wow, I didn’t know that! I didn’t know that!
If the weather permits, we will go to a large meadow overlooking Mt. Enjoy a commemorative photo in the beautiful scenery that can only be found at Koiwai Farm.
Once outside the Makiba garden, the tractor moves into a dense, deep forest. Koiwai Farm is one of the few farms in Japan that combines dairy farming and forestry. The beautiful nature here has been carefully cultivated over more than 100 years by our predecessors to suit the harsh climate of the southern foothills of Mount Iwate.
Go to the 100-year old cedar forest road where you can clearly see that the forest of Koiwai Farm was planted tree by tree and created by human hands. You can see a straight skyline that looks as if it has been sliced straight out of the sky. Here, too, we stopped the tractor for a commemorative photo. After turning off the engine, the silence of the forest envelops us.
The tractor will return to the Makiba Garden, following a path that overlooks a large pasture and a small path that offers beautiful fall foliage in the fall. Farm tractor rides offer different scenery and fun in each season. We encourage you to charter this tour for your small group trip!
